Coach Hepner has been a Blue Devil football coach since 2001. In that time he has taken on various roles as a coach, including Varsity Defensive Backs, Head JV Coach, and Interim Head Varsity Coach in 2006. Coach Hepner has served as the Defensive Coordinator and Linebacker Coach for the Varsity team over the last four years and is now the Head Coach.
Coach Hepner is a Grosse Pointe South Alumnus (‘93), and former Blue Devils standout player. He was a three year varsity starter and Co-Captain as a Senior. Other honors include 1st Team All-Mac, 1st Team All-Metro East, and All-State Honorable Mention. In addition, Coach Hepner set GP South football school records for: most rushing attempts, most rushing yards in a season, and most rushing yards in a career. He was awarded ‘Most Valuable Underclassman’ as a Junior, and voted ‘Most Valuable Player’ as a Senior
