Hot, humid but fantastic home opener.

The 87-degree heat, stifling humidity, and a threatening thunderstorm didn’t stop the Blue Devils from taking down the Port Huron Northern Huskies in a 38-3 win in the 2023 season home opener.

The game started a little shaky when Port Huron kicked a field goal to get the first score on the board just a minute into the first quarter. The Blue Devils immediately turned the game around with an interception, followed by a touchdown ending the first quarter 7-3. The defensive line, spearheaded by #74 CJ Schervish and #88 Hunter Belanger, held firm throughout the game with great tackles by #25 Wyatt Hepner and #35 Lex Willson.

Quarterback #4 Jack Lupo and kicker #17 CJ Rosani controlled the offensive game with five touchdowns; #7 Jack Lupo, #1 Vince Vachon, #4 Joey Michelotti, #10 Connor Pattie, and #2 Jack Kendall. And what a great way to finish the game with a 31-yard field goal.

The home opener showed this team has been working hard to click physically and mentally, and we’re looking forward to the next game at Anchor Bay on August 31.
